An impromptu walk recently led me to a small trove of books left alongside the road. Someone who had no need for them did have the wonderful sense that these old books could be treasured by someone new! The box held mostly 1960s era interior design books…

Ephemera, No. 01

I've found immense joy and satisfaction in perusing the vintage paper fair over the years. I can easily spend an hour rifling through a single box of postcards or a few hours sifting through postage! The fair provides such a wondrous and patient way to connect with another era, all through vintage postcards (mostly), letterhead, postage stamps, travel ephemera, books and catalogs, and posters.

Name Card

While thumbing through The Practical Book of Outdoor Flowers, this time I found the name card of a Mr. Whiton tucked among the old pages.

The experience of looking back on a year feels all at once so strange, amazing, and eye-opening. And these days a year can be summarized through a series of images within only a matter of moments!
