renegade report
part iii

a paper debut
while the beginnings of {paper & type} consisted mainly of custom design work (for events such as this, & this), i had a long-standing want to create my own line of simple-yet-charming stationery & cards that would encourage the art of written correspondence & thoughtfulness.  also, i had hoped to wean my mum off of hallmark cards (her picks are fairly amusing though, so i may, perhaps, leave her be).

for {paper & type}’s first collection, i focused on developing this & these into the calligraphic & flower series, all of which debuted at the renegade craft fair & are now in the etsy shop.  the fabric hearts card was reintroduced into the collection (there were a couple of requests for this from the boys, to my pleasant surprise), & the P&Q postcard duo was included as well.

the fabric enclosed correspondence kits were my labor of love.  one of my favorites from the fair was a woman who eyed the notebooks first but was drawn to the kits—she kindly purchased one kit each in the ivory/poppies & the saffron/stripes, & these were custom stamped with the names of her daughter & son, who were both out at sleepaway camp.

a boy by the name of david (& a fellow lover of stripes), after much deliberation with his companion, requested the above custom stamp for his own notebook.  his grandmother has trouble pronouncing “david,” so instead she says “daveeeeeeeeeeee…”

it was so nice to be present for moments such as those two.  i hardly left my booth.

see you at future fairs.
