practicing loopty-loops

home from maybelle’s beautiful calligraphy workshop at poketo. it was so fulfilling to spend hours practicing lines & loops among fellow devotees of hand-lettering, not to mention getting to meet & learn first-hand from maybelle imasa-stukuls. i remember happening upon her work around 2007, when i was starting to really experiment with calligraphy. so, you can imagine how my heart swelled upon finding out that maybelle was beginning to teach workshops earlier this year. she’s remarkably talented, & ever kind.

did you miss the weekend’s workshops? she’s returning to LA for an encore september 7!
