as you know, the typewriter (royal portable “model o”, to be specific) is the near & dear mark of paper & type. it’s made appearances with me at past fairs, garnering glances from sentimental gentlemen, curious young folk, & parents pointing out to their children “look at this bit of machinery that preceded the computer!"
at this time, janine vangool, the founder & editor-in-chief of uppercase magazine, is pulling together a visual compendium about the treasured invention, which has served as the mascot of her magazine as well (she is an avid collector!). the typewriter: a graphic history of the beloved machine, in the way of the quarterly issues of uppercase magazine we all know & hold close, will be a well-designed, full-color keepsake. please note that the production of the book will be realized only through your support, so do have a look at the ways you can contribute (& secure your own copy, because i’m not sharing mine).
the book isn’t due until next june, so in the meanwhile: subscribe, peek at previous books, & follow little finley.
xo!
